All the flowers I sell are grown and picked here from the flower field, garden, hedgerow, woodland and polytunnel.
They are grown in as natural a way that I feel I can to provide a quality product. I do not use pesticides and use no herbicides in the field or nursery area. The soil in the field is fed with manure and well rotted compost, both of which are produced here. Plants in the field are also fed with organic seaweed extract fertilizer and blood, fish and bone at times I deem they should be.
Flowers here are grown in a polyculture which means I grow numerous varieties in small numbers (some in greater numbers than others).
This has two benefits, firstly that disease and pest attacks will be lessened and secondly it means I can provide much greater variety in my bouquets, often using plants unknown by other florists and flower farmers.
I normally pick my flowers in the evening and condition them overnight using various water treatments, arranging and sending them out the following day. No chemicals are used in conditioning and if looked after, my flowers should predominantly last for 10 days.
I never hold flowers over in buckets so you will always receive the freshest flowers that you can buy.
